Sistership to Oscar II, she was also built by Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd., Glasgow, with the same overall length of 515 ft. and only slightly differing in gross tonnage with 10,085. She entered service in March 1903 for the Skandinavien-Amerika Linie mainly on the Copenhagen-New York run up until October 1931, crossing the Atlantic 418 times during her 28 years of operation. Equipped with exactly the same twin-screw propulsion system like her sistership, she sped up to 15,5 knots service speed accomodating 123 first-class, 129 second-class and 837 third-class passengers.
