Oscar II

Being the first in a trio of sisterships (Oscar II, Hellig Olav & United States), Oscar II was built by Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd., Glasgow, and delivered to DFDS Kjøbenhavn in March 1902 with an overall length of 515 ft. and a gross tonnage of 10,012. Main service: Copenhagen-Christiania-Christiansand-New York for the Skandinavien-Amerika Linie. She stayed on the transatlantic run up until 1931, crossing the Atlantic 398 times before being sold for demolition in August 1933. Her twin-screw triple expansion engines sped her up to 15,5 knots maximum speed, giving accomodation to 123 first-class, 133 second-class and 843 third-class passengers.
