General information about the line, its ships and traveling to Europe.
To praise comfort & splendour of the fleet`s ships - in a time when competitors on the North Atlantic were countless, companies tried to surpass each other in effective hyms on their lines all neatly compiled within colourful informational brochures. |
Rich in embellishment and pictures, these were unambiguously designed to appeal both, the urge to travel as well as national pride. In its 54 years of business (calculated from the year 1881 onwards), more than 1 million emigrants* chose to sail Skandinavien-Amerika Linien ships on their way into a better future. *from Aage Heinberg`s "Over Atlanten-Fra og til Denmark gennem Tiderne", København 1936
